FREQUENT QUESTIONS

  1.  What are the treatments available to counteract acne?                                                        There are treatments with drugs taken orally, which are very expensive and have an innumerable amount of side effects (can damage the liver), in addition to taking time to reach results.                         The creams help clean and disinfect the lesions, but do not destroy the bacteria that cause acne, as they do not penetrate the lower layer of the dermis.                                                       The treatments with pulsed light stimulate the skin to produce oxygen, which helps to destroy the bacteria that cause acne, pimples and skin problems.
  2. What are the advantages of pulsed light treatments?                                                        First, there are no side effects with this treatment, the only contraindication is sun exposure.                 The results are visible from the first session, gradually improving the appearance of the skin in the first two weeks after the treatment. It destroys acne bacteria, obtaining a prolonged effect, reducing the consequences of acne.
  3. How many sessions are required?                                                                                             The most recommended is to perform between 6 and 8 sessions, with an interval of 1 week between one session and another, to reduce considerably the injuries caused by acne. After this period, a maintenance session is recommended every two months for more lasting results.
  4.  Is it painful?                                                                                                                                  Each pulse or light emission is perceived as a slight heat or pinch. Local anesthesia is not necessary and most people tolerate the treatment well, although it all depends on pain thresholds that change from person to person.
  5. After each session, can I continue with my daily activities normally?                                Yes, you can work and live a completely normal life just after the session. The only recommendation after treatment, is not to do any other aggressive treatment for the skin such as peels or abrasions, at least in the following 15 days, since the skin may be more sensitive than usual.
